Hopefields are a fully inclusive school for young people aged 11-16 with (but not limited to) a social, emotional and/or mental health need.
Hopefields is located in the Tees Valley and proudly serves the communities of the local area.
The school offers high quality education for young people who are hard to reach, hard to place, and/or at risk of exclusion, alongside a specialist school environment for young people with additional needs.
Those who come to us may require further support to access an education package. This could be due to illness, a diagnosis of mental health, or may need further guidance to continue their pathway to employment and adulthood.
Hopefields is the brainchild of two people who, every day, faced the challenges in the education system due to the lack of meaningful, knowledge-rich, educational provision in the Tees Valley for young people with additional needs. Born and raised in the local area, the Directors are committed to the Tees Valley and the future generations across the North East.
Combining shared passions of education and changing lives, Hopefields was created to actively engage, challenge and meet the needs of all young people, whilst providing life-changing experiences in their pathway to adulthood.
Hopefields provide quality and therapeutic education for young people who are hard to reach and hard to place; not currently educated in schools or colleges, or who require further input or respite from their current education provider. Hopefields work with young people who may possess an Education, Health and Care plan, or require specialist support to access education. Education packages focus on academic progress and achievement, taught through a therapeutic, thematic and project-based curriculum.
As a Nurtured Heart Approach school, Hopefields subscribe and exhibit the principles of Inner Wealth(TM) and follow Howard Glasser's approach to educating young people in all aspects of their lives.
Young people aged 11-18 receive support and guidance, directly linked with the Gatsby Benchmarks, to further their chances of entering the local job market being able to contribute to the wider society.
The aim for all learners at Hopefields is to enhance opportunities and to progress educationally on an accredited course, accelerating academic progress. Hopefields promote community inclusion and enterprise skills for vulnerable young people, equipping them with transferable, social and employability qualities.
The school offers young people the support and guidance to further develop their self and sense of being, of community integration and also develop their pathway to adulthood, becoming good, disciplined and empathetic citizens.
